November 19–23, 2024 – International Conference and Competition 2024

KSTVET proudly hosted the International Conference and Competition 2024, an impactful five-day event that brought together global educators, professionals, and students to celebrate innovation and excellence in vocational training.

As part of this initiative, KSTVET welcomed distinguished guests and delegates from India, fostering meaningful international collaboration and cultural exchange. The event featured presentations, skill competitions, networking opportunities, and insightful discussions on the future of technical and vocational education.

November 16, 2024 – Basic F&B Class

On November 16, 2024, KSTVET conducted a Basic Food & Beverage (F&B) Class designed to introduce participants to the foundational principles of the F&B industry. This session was ideal for beginners seeking to understand essential hospitality operations and customer service practices.

F&B, short for Food and Beverage, plays a central role in the hospitality sector. It encompasses all aspects of food and drink service, including restaurant operations, hotel dining, catering, and bar services. Participants gained insights into both front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities.

Understanding F&B is vital for ensuring excellent customer experiences and meeting industry standards. This programme also supports individuals looking to start or advance their careers in hospitality-related roles.

November 11, 2024 – MOU Signing with Capri by Fraser

On November 11, 2024, KNOWSKILLS TVET signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Capri by Fraser, a prestigious 4-star hotel, to formalize a collaborative partnership aimed at bridging the gap between vocational education and the hospitality industry.

This agreement marks a significant step in enhancing real-world training opportunities for students. Through this partnership, KSTVET learners will benefit from structured internships, hands-on learning environments, and industry mentorship at one of the region’s leading hotel establishments.

The MoU reflects a shared commitment to nurturing future-ready graduates equipped with the practical skills, professionalism, and experience required to thrive in hospitality careers.

28 October 2024 – F&B and Bed Making Class

On October 28, 2024, KSTVET students participated in a hands-on training session focused on Food & Beverage (F&B) service and bed-making techniques. This practical class aimed to develop essential hospitality skills that are foundational for careers in hotels, resorts, and other service-oriented environments.

During the session, students learned how to professionally set up dining tables, understand table etiquette, and provide attentive guest service. In the bed-making segment, students were taught how to prepare guest rooms to hotel standards—emphasizing cleanliness, presentation, and efficiency.

These practical exercises are part of KSTVET’s commitment to delivering real-world experience that prepares students for success in the hospitality industry.

21 October 2024 – GMBB Deepavali Makan-Makan & Kolam Competition

To celebrate the Festival of Lights, KSTVET participated in the Deepavali Makan-Makan & Kolam Competition at GMBB on 21 October 2024. The event brought together students, staff, and guests for a joyful day filled with cultural appreciation, food, and creativity.

The highlight of the day was the vibrant Kolam competition, where teams showcased traditional Indian art using colorful rice flour patterns to express the spirit of Deepavali. The celebration also featured a “makan-makan” (food fest) session where attendees enjoyed a variety of festive dishes.

This event not only fostered cultural understanding and creativity but also strengthened the sense of community among participants.

16 October 2024 – Team Building Workshop

On October 16, 2024, KnowSkills TVET held a dynamic Team Building Workshop to foster collaboration, trust, and communication among its students. The workshop featured a range of engaging activities designed to help participants develop essential interpersonal skills needed in both professional and personal environments.

Through games, challenges, and group tasks, students learned how to work effectively in teams, solve problems collaboratively, and appreciate the strengths of diverse team members. The experience not only built stronger peer connections but also reinforced the value of teamwork in achieving shared goals.

16 October 2024 – MOU Signing with LICE (Labuan) Sdn. Bhd

On 16 October 2024, KNOWSKILLS TVET officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LICE (Labuan) Sdn. Bhd, a prominent maritime recruitment agency.

This partnership marks a strategic step toward enhancing career pathways for TVET graduates by connecting them with global maritime industry opportunities. The MOU establishes a collaborative framework to facilitate student internships, job placements, and joint training initiatives aimed at producing highly skilled, industry-ready talent.

This milestone reflects KNOWSKILLS TVET’s ongoing commitment to building strong industry linkages and ensuring relevant, practical training aligned with current employment demands.

8 October 2024 – Laptop Handover Ceremony by Rotary Club Ara Damansara

On 8 October 2024, KNOWSKILLS TVET held a special handover ceremony to receive a generous donation of rental laptops from the Rotary Club of Ara Damansara. The initiative is aimed at enhancing digital access for students, ensuring that every learner is equipped with the tools necessary for modern vocational education.

This contribution reflects a shared commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting inclusive, technology-driven learning environments. With these laptops, students will have improved access to learning materials, online resources, and digital skills training essential for their academic and professional growth.

3 October 2024 – Ease The Purple House

On October 3rd, 2024, a presentation was held by The Purple House (TPH), a prominent name in Malaysia’s hostel management industry. The session aimed to expose participants to innovative practices in property and accommodation services, emphasizing sustainable growth and diversified offerings.

According to their official profile, The Purple House has evolved significantly over the years—from offering student housing to a wide array of property solutions, including:

  • Accommodation for nursing staff
  • Coliving spaces
  • Workers’ accommodation via TPHive
  • Integrated property management solutions under TIPS
  • Digital marketing for the real estate sector

TPH’s presentation underscored their commitment to providing flexible, client-focused solutions that meet the evolving needs of Malaysia’s urban population.

1 October 2024 – PPD Keramat School Fair @ SMK Sri Ampang

On October 1st, 2024, KSTVET participated in the PPD Keramat School Fair held at SMK Sri Ampang. This educational outreach event, organized by the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) Keramat, provided an excellent platform for secondary school students to explore various academic and vocational pathways.

KSTVET representatives engaged with students and educators to share insights about TVET programmes, career development opportunities, and industry-relevant skills training. The event helped increase awareness about the importance of technical and vocational education and inspired students to consider hands-on, skills-based futures.

18 September 2024 – KSTVET 1st Graduation Ceremony

KSTVET proudly celebrated its first official graduation ceremony on 18 September 2024, marking a historic milestone for the institution.

This event honoured the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our pioneering group of graduates. Friends, families, and faculty gathered to witness this proud moment as students officially completed their training and took their first steps into the professional world.

The ceremony featured inspiring speeches, certificate presentations, and moments of joy and reflection, symbolising the beginning of many successful journeys ahead.

We congratulate all graduates and look forward to the positive impact they will bring to their communities and industries.

12 September 2024 – MOU Signing with MYPPP

On 12 September 2024, KnowSkills TVET formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MYPPP (Malaysian Youth Programme for Professional Pathways). This significant collaboration marks a shared commitment to empowering Malaysian youth through vocational training, skills development, and industry-relevant certification pathways.

The MoU sets the foundation for joint initiatives that will expand access to technical education, enhance employability, and support economic mobility for young Malaysians. Through this partnership, both organisations aim to strengthen capacity building and create meaningful career opportunities aligned with Malaysia’s workforce needs.

27 August 2024 – Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

KNOWSKILLS TVET proudly participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), celebrating and recognising outstanding leadership qualities among youth participants.

The programme offers a platform for young leaders to enhance their communication, teamwork, and public service skills through workshops, mentorship, and community involvement. Participants were commended for their initiative, responsibility, and ability to lead with integrity.

This event underscores KNOWSKILLS TVET’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders who will make meaningful contributions to society.

21 August 2024 – Mercure Hotel Visit

On August 21st, KNOWSKILLS TVET organized an educational visit to the prestigious 4-star Mercure Hotel, providing students with firsthand exposure to professional hospitality operations.

The visit offered valuable insights into real-world hotel management practices, including front office procedures, guest services, housekeeping standards, and food & beverage operations. Students had the opportunity to observe the daily workflow, interact with experienced professionals, and understand the importance of service excellence and attention to detail in the hospitality industry.

This industry engagement initiative bridges classroom learning with actual workplace environments, inspiring students and enhancing their career readiness.

21 August 2024 – Regal Park Hotel Visit

On August 21, KNOWSKILLS TVET students visited the 3-star Regal Park Hotel to gain real-world insights into hospitality operations and hotel management. The visit offered a valuable behind-the-scenes look at daily hotel functions—from front desk services to housekeeping and food & beverage operations.

Although the Regal Park Hotel ceased operations in 2025, this educational visit in 2024 served as an important experiential learning opportunity for participants pursuing a future in the hospitality industry.

August 20, 2024 – IBIS Hotel Industry Exposure Visit

On August 20, KNOWSKILLS TVET students participated in an educational visit to IBIS Hotel, a leading international budget hotel chain. This visit was part of their industry exposure initiative aimed at deepening their understanding of hospitality operations within the budget accommodation sector.

During the visit, students gained firsthand insights into the day-to-day workings of a hotel, including front office procedures, housekeeping standards, customer service practices, and operational efficiency in a cost-conscious environment. The experience provided a valuable perspective on how professional service is maintained while managing limited resources — a key hallmark of the budget hospitality model.

This industry visit helps bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice, equipping students with relevant knowledge and motivation as they prepare to enter the hospitality workforce.

13 & 14 August 2024 – Pastry Workshop

On August 13 and 14, 2024, KNOWSKILLS TVET hosted a hands-on Pastry Workshop, where culinary students explored the art and science of pastry making.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students engaged in practical sessions focused on preparing a variety of baked goods—from classic pastries to modern creations. The workshop provided participants with the opportunity to enhance their technical skills, understand ingredient functionality, and develop precision in baking techniques.

This immersive workshop was part of KSTVET’s culinary training series, designed to cultivate creativity, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the culinary craft.

12 July 2024 – MOU Signing with Sapphire Academy

On July 12, 2024, KNOWSKILLS TVET officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sapphire Academy—a respected educational institution dedicated to serving learners with special needs.

This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to inclusive education, with the goal of enhancing training opportunities, vocational skill development, and holistic support for students with diverse learning abilities.

Through this partnership, both institutions aim to create inclusive pathways for academic advancement, career readiness, and social empowerment for special needs learners.

9 & 10 July 2024 – Pastry Workshop

KNOWSKILLS TVET culinary students participated in a hands-on Pastry Workshop, where they refined their baking and presentation skills under professional guidance. Over two days, students prepared a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods using commercial-grade kitchen equipment.

The workshop focused on fostering creativity, precision, and practical technique—essential traits for aspiring pastry chefs in the hospitality industry. This experience also emphasized teamwork and time management within a real-world kitchen setting.

27 June 2024 – Intelligent Technology Exhibition

KSTVET participated in the 5th OCTF (Kuala Lumpur) Intelligent Technology Exhibition, held from June 27th to 29th, 2024 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL). This prestigious event brought together innovators, industry leaders, and technology experts from across the region to showcase cutting-edge advancements in intelligent technology.

The exhibition provided valuable exposure to emerging technologies, fostering knowledge exchange and encouraging collaboration between educational institutions and the tech industry. KSTVET’s presence highlighted its commitment to embracing innovation and preparing students for future-ready careers in the digital and technological sectors.

16 June 2024 – myEDUCATION FAIR 2024

On June 16, 2024, KSTVET students participated in the annual myEDUCATION FAIR, a national platform showcasing a wide range of educational and career opportunities for Malaysian youth.

The event offered students the chance to explore pathways in higher education, vocational training, and professional development through direct engagement with representatives from institutions, industries, and training providers.

Through this exposure, students gained deeper insights into potential career options, course offerings, scholarships, and industry expectations—empowering them to make informed decisions about their future.

1 May 2024 – Persons with Disabilities Vocational Day
KSTVET held a special Vocational Day to celebrate the creativity, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit of persons with disabilities. The event served as a platform for inclusivity, empowerment, and awareness. The highlight of the day featured several student-run stalls showcasing and selling handmade products, crafts, and food items—demonstrating the capabilities and vocational talents of participants in various fields. This initiative reflects KSTVET’s commitment to inclusive education and skills development, providing meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities to engage in real-world experiences and community interaction.

18 March 2024 – Housekeeping @ THE CHOW KIT Hotel

As part of their hospitality training, KSTVET students engaged in a hands-on housekeeping experience at THE CHOW KIT Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. This opportunity allowed students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hotel setting, gaining insight into industry standards and daily operations.

Students were exposed to essential housekeeping tasks including room preparation, linen management, cleaning protocols, and guest service etiquette. The collaboration not only enhanced their technical skills but also boosted confidence, discipline, and professionalism in a high-end hospitality environment.

This experiential learning initiative is a cornerstone of KSTVET’s commitment to practical, industry-aligned education.

15 February 2024 – International Youth Centre Visit

On 15 February 2024, KSTVET visited the International Youth Centre (IYC) to explore potential youth development collaborations and gain insights into national-level initiatives for empowering young people in Malaysia.

The International Youth Centre (IYC) was established by the Malaysian government and endorsed by the Cabinet on 6 February 1985. It was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at the time, Rt. Hon. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

IYC serves as a hub for youth engagement, leadership development, and community empowerment. The centre continues to play a vital role in nurturing future leaders through educational programmes, capacity building, and civic involvement.

15 February 2024 – Komune Living & Wellness

KSTVET organized a visit to Komune Living & Wellness, a unique destination that combines community living with wellness-centric experiences.

Located next to a 99-acre tropical leisure park in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Komune Living & Wellness is an integrated co-living and wellness hub. It offers a diverse range of services and amenities for short-term stays, wellness retreats, family getaways, long-term accommodation, and community-based experiences.

The visit allowed participants to explore how innovative hospitality models blend lifestyle, health, and community engagement in a modern setting.

15 February 2024 – GMBB CNY Celebration

GMBB came alive with vibrant festivities during its Chinese New Year (CNY) Celebration on 15 February 2024. The entire complex was filled with cultural performances, festive décor, and traditional Chinese activities that brought the spirit of the Lunar New Year to life.

Attendees experienced a joyful blend of modern celebration and cultural tradition, with opportunities to enjoy music, food, arts, and crafts while embracing the theme of prosperity and togetherness.

24 January 2024 – Product Briefing

On January 24, 2024, students participated in a focused session on effective product briefing techniques. The session aimed to equip them with the skills necessary to present products clearly and confidently to various audiences.

Throughout the training, students learned how to structure a briefing, highlight key product features, address customer questions, and communicate benefits in a professional setting. This hands-on experience strengthens both communication and presentation skills, which are essential for future careers in sales, marketing, and client engagement.

22 January 2024 – Chef Praveen Raj

On January 22, 2024, KSTVET students and instructors had the unique opportunity to visit a prestigious 5-star hotel and meet renowned culinary expert, Chef Praveen Raj.

This educational visit gave students valuable insights into the professional culinary world, including high-end kitchen operations, food presentation, and the discipline required to excel in the hospitality industry.

Chef Praveen shared his personal journey, demonstrated advanced culinary techniques, and emphasized the importance of passion, precision, and lifelong learning in the field of gastronomy.

15 January – MyFlex Visit

On January 15, representatives from KSTVET College visited MyFlex Health to gain industry insights into the health sciences sector. This engagement was targeted at KSTVET’s staff and facilitators, not students, and aimed to strengthen ties between the college and leading health service providers.

The visit provided valuable exposure to real-world practices within the healthcare field and opened avenues for future collaboration, particularly in curriculum development and health science training models.

3 Jan 2024 – MOU Signing with Akira Management

On January 3, 2024, KSTVET officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Akira Management.

This strategic partnership is aimed at providing students with comprehensive support and pathways to study and work in Japan. The collaboration will facilitate career development opportunities abroad, foster international exposure, and help students gain access to valuable resources and networks within the Japanese workforce and educational system.

3 Jan 2024 – MOU Signing with KPS (Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd)

On January 3, 2024, KSTVET formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (KPS), marking a significant step toward industrial collaboration and workforce development.

KPS is an investment holding company actively involved in various sectors, including:

  • Electrical Infrastructure: Providing management, construction, and maintenance services for electrical systems in Malaysia.
  • EPCC Services: Engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning projects across multiple industries.
  • Manufacturing & Distribution: Producing and distributing specialized electrical equipment.
  • Property Investment: Engaging in commercial property investment and rental services.

This partnership aligns with KSTVET’s mission to foster strong industry linkages and enhance student opportunities through collaborative projects, internships, and training initiatives.
